The year is nearly over and that provides us all with a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the year just passed and even more importantly to start to set goals and plans for the year to come.
Personally I do this exercise every year and every year that I set some smart goals it seems I inevitably blast straight through those goals.
What works for me may or may not work for you. I use the “down time” between Christmas and New Year as the time to do this exercise. I have heard and seen lots of advice about goal setting and some years ago I came across a chapter in a book by Tony Robbins which seemed to suit me and so I captured my thoughts and wrote a paper which I called “Great Goal Setting”. If you click here you will be able to download the document from my website. I hope you find it useful.
I have also prepared a word document to encourage you to “think in ink” and document your goals. You can also download that by clicking here.
Whatever you choose to do and however you choose to do it I do strongly commend to you the routine and discipline of setting yourselves some goals for the year ahead (and the years ahead) in whatever way works best for you.
Remember if you do not know where you are going how will you ever know when you get there? And as Yogi Berra once observed
You’ve got to be very careful if you don’t know where you are going because you might not get there.” In fact if you don’t know where you are going, wherever you finally arrive, it will have been accidental.
With over ten years experience of coaching individuals and businesses I have consistently found that those that achieve their goals are the same as those who were clear about precisely what their goals were in the first place. One client will always remark about how whenever they write down and commit to their goals they always blast through them. Well do it regularly, do it consistently and do it often is the answer.
“Until you commit your goals to paper, you have intentions that are seeds without soil.” Is a well known saying. So commit those goals to paper. Think in ink. Commit and execute in 2015. Now is the time to set those goals.
If you choose to commit to growing your business, your income and your success. You will find the January kickstart free seminar a great place to begin. Click here nowto reserve a place for you and your colleagues.
